Conventional wisdom is so strong. Especially in the field of customer centricity. In workshops and classes, we always participants whether they believe that the purchase behaviour of women is more emotionally driven than men`s behaviour? Surprisingly most people still think that the women`s purchase behaviour is more strongly driven by emotions. Research proved a long time ago that the purchase behaviour of men and women is equally strongly based on emotions. The only difference is that both sexes are more or less emotionally driven towards different offerings. Conventional wisdom plays an extremely strong role in our minds. In order to become truly customer-centric it is of vital importance to take decisions based on solid research on customer`s attitudes and behaviour and not on conventional wisdom that tends to be wrong.
